How can we accelerate the transition towards healthier soils across Europe?

The STRATUS project invites you to join the webinar “Soil Health Across Europe: Research, Innovation and Practical Solutions”, taking place on 16 October 2026. The webinar will bring together experiences, innovative approaches and policy perspectives to explore how knowledge, research and practical solutions can contribute to healthier and more sustainable soils across Europe. Participants will have the opportunity to discover examples of knowledge transfer, innovative farming practices, nature-based solutions and policy developments, with a particular focus on how these approaches can be translated into practice.

What will the webinar cover?

The programme will explore four key topics:

  • EU-wide knowledge transfer to counteract soil degradation
The session will look at how EIP-AGRI Operational Groups and European initiatives are supporting knowledge exchange and helping to address soil degradation across Europe. It will highlight the importance of connecting research, farmers, advisors and other actors to turn knowledge into practical solutions.
  • Variable fertilisation with prescription maps
Participants will discover how prescription maps can support more targeted and efficient fertilisation. The session will address practical implementation, the challenges involved and experiences from on-farm trials, providing insights into how precision approaches can be integrated into agricultural practice.
  • Nature-based solutions for soil health
The webinar will also explore the potential of nature-based solutions (NbS) to improve soil health, with a focus on knowledge transfer and training. The role of Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKIS) in supporting the uptake of these solutions will also be discussed.
  • European policies and nature-based solutions for soil health
The final session will provide an overview of relevant policy developments and their implications for soil health, including updates on the future Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), carbon farming, and the IUCN Global Standard for Nature-based Solutions.

Join the discussion
