For its annual General Assembly on January 21-23, 2026, the STRATUS consortium met in Ghent, this time with partner EVILVO as the host. The event took place in the 90-meter-high tower of the Flemish Government’s VAC Building, next to Sint-Pieters Train Station.
Upon arrival at the scene on Wednesday, not only coffee was waiting for the STRATUS partners, but also a delegation from the sister project AdvisoryNetPEST. For the latter, this joint day with STRATUS was the closing piece of their Annual Meeting. The partners of both projects met in real-time for the first time, and with the help of an icebreaker, the members of both groups became acquainted and began exchanging their experiences.
From Thursday onwards, the meeting focused entirely on STRATUS, with the aim of reviewing the past year’s progress, exchanging insights and aligning next steps for the coming year. It was encouraging to see participants engage in open discussion. The plenary format clearly activated dialogue and collective decision-making, thereby strengthening collaboration within the consortium. STRATUS‘ commitment to future-proofing European agriculture through sustainable and efficient fertiliser use was confirmed once again by its collaborative spirit.
While the focus of the Annual Meeting was firmly on research activities, upcoming field trials, etc., the success of the event was also due to the seamless organization behind the scenes. Charlotte Lybaert, from the EVILVO team, coordinated venue arrangements, catering, and logistics with the precision of a film set — a skillset she brought from her previous experience as a directing assistant in the movie industry. Her attention to detail ensured that the meeting ran smoothly, allowing participants to focus entirely on their work. Thank you, Charlotte! And thank you all, for strengthening our partnership year after year.
